The World Wide Web began as a single organisation's information management tool (at CERN). Today, the Web retains those IM applications, and virtually any organisation can take advantage of them for a more effective RIM programme. This session focuses on the Web's scientifically underpinned core information architecture, and how its open standards can be applied to RIM-systems to create stable, yet flexible, architectures that avoid islands of information, vendor lock-in, and complex migrations.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session, you will be able to:
  1. Develop RIM systems based on open standards, avoiding vendor lock-in
  2. Describe how to manage the interoperability of RIM systems in new ways, including cloud integration
  3. Design RIM systems that overcome the 'island' constrain
  4. Develop information architectures that are stable and yet adaptive
Skill Level: Strategic
Education Track: Information Technology
Estimated time of completion: 1.0 hour
ICRM Maintenance Credits: 1.0 credits pre-approved
