Many organizations permit, encourage, or even require employees to use their personal devices to access and manage work-related information. This practice, called Bring Your Own Device or BYOD, is often part of an organization-wide BYOD program supported by technology, policies, and practices.
To help organizations develop BYOD policies and practices and manage BYOD in discovery, The Sedona Conference® and its Working Group on Electronic Document Retention & Production recently published The Sedona Conference Commentary on BYOD: Principles and Guidance for Developing Policies and Meeting Discovery Obligations.
Through this webinar, attendees will learn key principles and guidance presented in the Commentary, including how to:
- Balance business objectives, legal obligations, and employee rights when implementing BYOD
- Achieve business goals with BYOD while still protecting information from unauthorized access, disclosure, and use.
- Identify and navigate discovery implications of BYOD devices.
- Configure BYOD technology, policy, and practices to mitigate discovery burdens.
This month’s speakers are all members of the Sedona working group that drafted the Commentary on BYOD Policies and Related Discovery:
