ARMA Live! Education

Education

Your Voice Matters in ARMA Live! Education

ARMA Live! is THE education conference for those in the information management/information governance professions. Whether you're new to the field or a seasoned practitioner, our education can benefit you. You'll acquire practical knowledge that will help you in your roles and can attain credit hours as well!

We’re continuing our multi-year evolution of our conference education so that it becomes more of an experiential learning program that addresses your daily on-the-job challenges. You will have opportunity to participate in a “flipped learning” virtual pre-conference with follow-up workshops. You can take part in popular “learning labs” where you get actively involved in solving problems and finding solutions; and in “featured” sessions with hand-picked facilitators who will guide you into the future of information. In addition, this year we will be:
  • Adding additional "in the moment" interactions
  • Integrating more workshops into the conference program
  • Offering greater crowd-sourcing to ensure topics address your needs
Tailor your education to fit your needs.

Choose from one of the following threads:

1. Professional Engagement

How effective are you as you manage your organization’s information programs? Join these sessions to explore this aspect of your role that manifests as communication; marketing; project and change management; goal-setting; accountability; and stakeholder education and training. Sharpen these critical competencies and heighten job satisfaction and personal confidence.

2. Info Management Foundation

Is your organization’s information management (IM) house in order? Join these sessions to solidify the basis for well-governed information. Explore the legal, regulatory and operational requirements for retaining and managing information. Examine the lifecycle management of information from creation through disposition, and why to automate information lifecycle management activities.

3. Technology Enablers

When technology planning occurs, do you get a seat at the table as your organization’s information management expert? Join these sessions to inform enterprise-wide decisions on system development or migration; file shares; email; electronic repositories; and a move to the Cloud. Become the must-have participant when technology-related meetings convene.

4. Related IG Disciplines

Do the information management disciplines at your organization collaborate to govern information? Join these sessions to examine the reasons why privacy; information security; data quality; ethics and compliance; legal; contract administration; etc. should join forces as information governance (IG). Unify your organization around its information-related responsibilities.

Then choose your Target Audience:

1. Foundational

Education for those who are new to the profession or are practitioners from other disciplines and domains, such as IT, legal, compliance, and risk. You will acquire core principles and expand upon foundational knowledge and skills of information management and information governance. (RIM Core Competency Levels 1 & 2)

2. Experienced

Education for seasoned practitioners and high-level experts who possess significant knowledge of information management practices and information governance concepts or possess extensive knowledge in other business domains. You will expand upon the application of information management and governance principles to your operations or discipline and be able to provide enterprise direction. (RIM Core Competency Levels 3 & 4 and IGP DACUM Level)

Finally, choose your Info Program Maturity:

1. Developing

Education for those whose information programs are new or in the foundational stages of development. The session content will help you grow your program to greater maturity. (Information Governance Maturity Model levels 1 & 2)

2. Established

Education for those whose information programs are already established or in the more advanced stages of maturity. The session content will help you advance your programs to forward-thinking levels of maturity. (Information Governance Maturity Model levels 3, 4, & 5)

Partner Sessions

Just as information professionals are most successful in collaboration with information stakeholders, the ARMA Live! conference education program is most beneficial when ARMA International partners contribute to the learning experience! Watch for more information on partner sessions to come.

Save a Session

Not every session proposal submitted can be included in the conference education program – but you can help save a few! In June you will once again have a chance to save a session with your vote. Stay tuned for more information on saving a session!

ARMA Flipped! Sessions

The ARMA Flipped! virtual conference consists of four practical web seminars with live text chat, SMEs, and a virtual exhibit hall with solution providers. This ”part one” of the flipped sessions provides the content instruction in an online virtual conference in September 2018, which you can attend from your home or office. “Part two” of the flipped sessions provides hands-on application of the online instruction in a follow-up, face-to-face workshop at the ARMA Live! 2018 conference (requires annual conference registration). You must take part in the online virtual conference if you wish to participate in the ARMA Flipped! onsite workshops at the annual conference.

Anyone with a full conference registration is automatically registered for the ARMA Flipped! virtual conference! Watch for more information to come this summer!

Session Sneak Peeks

Again this year, you can get a taste of the conference education program before traveling to the conference! In August you will get a "sneak peek" of some of the education sessions from short, 30-second YouTube videos. Simply “like” the YouTube video that most excites you. The "sneak peek" with the most "likes" on YouTube by October 5 wins!
