Elections occur every year for the president elect and the director roles. The treasurer is elected every other year and can serve up to two terms.
The Election Management Task Force manages the annual election process and ensures a fair election independent of the board of directors. The call for nominations begins in September every year and is open for approximately six weeks. Potential candidates must submit their materials to the Election Management Task Force, who reviews them to ensure the candidates meet the required minimum qualifications. Once candidates are qualified, they are announced, usually by the beginning of December. The election takes place in January. Voting is open to all Professional members for a period of three weeks.
