IGPs: News on Recertification, CEUs, and IGP Board
Friday, January 3, 2020
Information Governance Professionals – please note the following news items that concern your certification.
IGP Recertification Process
If your IGP certification was up for renewal in 2019, you will receive an email by January 17 with detailed instructions on the renewal process. You will be asked to fill out an online form confirming your completion of the required credit hours (60 CEUs) and the credit distribution. You will also receive an invoice. February 17 is your deadline to complete the form and pay the invoice in order to renew your IGP certification.

Tracking Your CEUs
Since last year’s transition to an honor system of reporting CEUs, our guidance to IGPs has been to maintain your records for CEUs in whatever format you are most comfortable. Between 5-10% of IGPs will be audited to confirm compliance with the credit hours and distribution requirements.
Currently, there’s a glitch in the journaling tool with recording CEUs for the IGP certification; we’re working with our software provider's support team to resolve it. With that said, we offer this tool as a courtesy; it is not intended to replace your own recordkeeping. We encourage you to track your own progress because we cannot guarantee the tool will be available and accurate at all times.
