Dear Members of ARMA Vancouver Island

 

We are pleased to notify you that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ARMA Vancouver Island (ARMA VI) will be held:

On       Wednesday, May 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

At the   Argyle Attic, 777 Courtney Street, Victoria (upstairs)

 

For the following purposes:

  1. To approve the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held May 10, 2018

  2. To receive the annual reports of the Board of Directors

  3. To run Board elections

  4. To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting

 

NOTE: While the AGM begins at 6:00, arrive at 5:30 for networking and appetizers!

 

We encourage all members to attend the AGM as it’s a great opportunity to meet fellow records and information management (RIM) professionals and find out what the Chapter has been up to this year. Please RVSP at president@armavi.org so we have an idea of numbers.

 

We also encourage all members to consider volunteering on the ARMA VI Chapter 2019/20 Board or on the programming committee. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to your organization; to further develop your personal leadership skills and to build relationships with others working in or interested in the RIM field! We hope both experienced RIM practitioners and those new to RIM will consider volunteering.

 

Board Positions Available for Nomination

President Elect

Attends monthly Board meetings. Assists President in performing any duties, and, in the absence or withdrawal of the President, assumes the duties and obligations of the President. Three-year commitment:  July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022 (one year each as President Elect, President, and Past President).

Member at Large: Programming Director
Attends monthly Board meetings. Chair the programming committee. Organize the year’s educational and social events. Liaise closely with the Website Director and the Marketing/Communications Director.   Two-year term: July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021

 

According to the ARMA Vancouver Island bylaws, all ARMA members in good standing are eligible to nominate themselves or others to fill these leadership roles. An invitation for nominations will also be received from the floor at the AGM. In the event there is more than one nomination for a position, voting shall be by secret ballot.

 

If you are interested in volunteering in a less formal role, such as on the Programming Committee we would love to hear from you!
