    From the CEO: January 2016

    Jan 25, 2016

Welcome to the first 2016 edition of InfoPro. We look forward to a year of growth and change. The year is off to a strong start with the successful completion of our virtual conference. Thanks to more than 1,000 registrants for joining us. Free to you as a member, our annual virtual conference is just one of the many valuable reasons to be a member of ARMA.

The New Year is also a good time to focus on professional development by pursuing theInformation Governance Professional (IGP) certification. Having recently earned the IGP myself, I can say it was a rewarding professional experience. Preparing and completing the exam made me more knowledgeable about our industry. If you want to grow in your career, and obtain the industry’s most valuable information governance credential, you should consider the IGP certification.

Though it is only January, we are already planning ARMA Live! Conference 2016 to be held Sept. 25-27 in San Antonio. Speaking of conferences, the ARMA International European Conference has officially been announced. It will be held in Brussels, Belgium, June 20-21. This is another great networking opportunity and a way to engage with our European members.  For more details, visit the ARMA European Conference website.

In our efforts to continue to learn how we can better assist you, I urge you to speak your mind. The Board of Directors and HQ want to hear from you. One of the best ways to pass along your ideas and concerns is through your chapter. The chapter experience has been integral to the strength of ARMA International. As I travel to and speak at chapter meetings, it has become increasingly clear to me that the chapter is the foundation of this organization. If you haven’t attended a meeting recently, or if you have never attended a meeting, I recommend you do so. It’s the perfect opportunity to network with peers.

Lastly, we need your support and assistance to help spread the word to colleagues and peers about the benefits of ARMA membership. Let others, particularly those who may be new to this career, know how ARMA International can help them advance and get to know their professional community.

We look forward to a great year. Get involved, stay involved, and help us move ARMA forward.
