Smartphone Market, Challenges Continue to Grow

    Nov 18, 2014

If you thought the demand globally for smartphones was declining, think again. According to a article, the program director with research firm IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker said global smartphone shipments are continuing to see “record-setting volumes.” During the third quarter of 2014, they topped 300 million, a 25% increase over third quarter 2013.

As the use of mobile devices has continued to grow in general, so does their use for work. According to a article, a 2013 IDG Global Solutions study found that 41% of respondents use their personal smartphone for business. This continues to present challenges to organizations with respect to e-discovery and data security.
