MS Exchange Server 2010 to Add Archiving, E-Discovery

According to Information Week, Microsoft's Exchange Server 2010, set for release in the second half of this year, will provide basic e-mail governance capabilities. Exchange 2010 will have integrated archiving and multiple mailbox search, important features for the 72% of companies that do not have centralized e-mail archiving and instead rely on employees to archive e-mail manually. The product will also include instant messaging, threaded e-mail conversations, and the ability to send text messages via e-mail.  Microsoft's strategy will be to emphasize ease of use and undercut competitor pricing.  Analysts note that Exchange 2010 will not provide such advanced features as content analytics and archiving of multiple content types commonly found in higher-end products geared toward e-discovery.
