Dating Service Profiles – Permanent Retention?
Many online dating services have privacy policies regarding how their customers' personal profiles may be used. Now the issue is how long the extensive data – which can comprise as many as 400 questions – is kept. Some services will delete the information only on request, while others won't delete profile information at all. Now legal concerns are surfacing as to how e-dating services would respond to subpoenas brought in conjunction with legal matters such as divorce or custody battles, employment-related litigation, and possible medical-related lawsuits.
