Candidate Qualification

ARMA International understands the need for global outreach in the records and information management (RIM) profession and the LINC Program offers RIM practitioners all over the world an alternate way to join the association.

All candidates must submit an application for the LINC program.

Once you agree to the terms and conditions of the program and your application is submitted, your information will be entered into a database identifying you as a candidate for the program.

It is necessary that you provide an e-mail address to facilitate ease of communication in this process. It is also necessary that you be proficient in English.

ARMA's chapters and/or regions will then choose from the available candidates in the database. When chosen, you will be asked to submit a 300-word essay to the potential sponsor on "Why an ARMA Membership Would Be Important to Me." The potential sponsor will notify you within 30 days of their decision. If you are not chosen at that time, your information will remain available in the database for other interested parties.

If you are chosen, you will then be committed to submitting at least two additional articles that provide international perspective on a RIM topic of the sponsoring party's choice. You will receive one year of membership to the association in exchange for this information.

After one year of membership, you may either apply again for the program or renew the membership on your own in response to the renewal notice we will send.
