INTRODUCTION TO: CONVERSATIONAL INTELLIGENCE® Build Trust. One Conversation at a Time.

Every word, phrase, interaction, or even silence can have a profound ripple effect – for good, better, or worse. Most people are well meaning, want to do great work, and get along. But when the stakes and pressures escalate we often default to interaction styles that can be less effective or even counter‐productive. Despite good intentions we can experience or trigger un‐intended results such as: misunderstandings; break‐down in trust; conversation & relationship disconnect – and more.

Conversational Intelligence® (C‐IQ®) Teaches Us How to Do Better. Learn how to promote healthier conversational dynamics with yourself and others to boost potential for better relationship and performance outcomes. This introductory workshop draws from the burgeoning field of Conversational Intelligence® and is ideal for anyone who is navigating challenging work dynamics, change initiatives, or simply wants to do better with their conversations, relationships, and goals. Myth Alert! It doesn’t matter if you are a natural conversationalist or quieter by nature. Nor is Conversational Intelligence strictly about what phrase(s) to say or quick tips. It goes deeper and brings new skills to the fore to help us all recognize some invisible forces that can either hinder or promote our abilities to communicate more effectively and with greater potential for positive outcomes.

Highlight of key learning opportunities: •Learn about the neuroscience of conversations and the impact trust and distrust has on our brain and our communications efficacy; learn how to better manage those influences. •Become aware of common blind spots and triggers that can derail the best of intentions and learn how to mitigate these pitfalls. •Take away useful and applicable tools and strategies to prime yourself and others for better conversations and relationship dynamics. Prepare to engage in meaningful conversations with your peers in a safe, high-impact learning environment. And we’ll have some fun along the way too!

The Facilitator: Eileen Chadnick (@Chadnick) is a certified coach specializing in career, executive and leadership development. Also a communications pro (20+ years of experience), Eileen is principal of Big Cheese Coaching and Chadnick Communications in Toronto. Eileen draws from the disciplines of positivity, leadership, neuroscience, emotional intelligence – and Conversational Intelligence®(C‐IQ®) in her work as a coach, consultant, trusted advisor, and facilitator. In addition to authoring the book, Ease: Manage Overwhelm in Times of Crazy Busy, Eileen is also a contributing leadership and careers columnist with the Globe and Mail.
