Thought Leader Session - Fellows Forum - Thursday, October 15, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. This year's forum is designed with experienced practitioners in mind. While people at all levels of RIM experience are welcome, this session will focus on issues and trends of interest to seasoned practitioners. The panel of Fellows of ARMA International will be highly interactive with ample opportunity for audience members to ask questions and to offer their own ideas and suggestions. No PowerPoint, no handouts - just a roll-up-your-sleeves discussion. Get an up-to-the-minute look at events affecting our profession and what others are doing to keep up with the fast pace of change.

Bridging the Gap between Data Protection and Record Keeping
Friday, October 16, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.
The facilitators will highlight some of the "rules and regulations" that impact international record keeping. Sharon Alexander-Gooding will provide detailed input on privacy and personal data protection, including key principles, responsibilities and terminology of data protection, and the need for reengineering some of our vital processes and procedures in order to comply with new and ever-changing regulatory requirements. Ineke Deserno will discuss personal data protection at the European level, highlighting the key points of the European Union (EU) legislation and will look at the delicate relationship between EU personal data protection and access to documents (or freedom of information) legislation.

Higher Education Task Force

Thursday, October 15, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
ARMA International's Higher Education Task Force (HETF) has been tasked with identifying higher education institution with RIM education opportunities, determining steps necessary to expand RIM course work in existing programs, documenting steps necessary to develop new RIM courses/programs at the higher education level, and standardizing RIM professional education at the college/university level by utilizing the ARMA International core competencies. RIM professionals interested in learning about the current state of RIM and higher education as well as the future of RIM and higher education and how ARMA International will affect it should attend this session.
