Leadership Development at Region Conferences

Each of the following regions hosts a leadership conference during the months of May through August to provide chapter leaders with resources they need to be strengthen their leadership skills. Through its Leadership Academy Program, ARMA International sponsors a half-day of leadership training at this conference.  Below is the information for this year's region conferences.  Click here to see presenations from previous region conferences.  Check back for more details on the topic that will be presented and the dates of the upcoming region conferences.

Great Northwest Region: Bellevue, WA - June 11-12
Mid-Atlantic Region: Pittsburgh, PA- June 11-12

Northeast Region: Jersey City, NJ - May 13-15  (tentative)

The following information was provided during the 2009 Region Leadership Conference as presented by Dale Mask from Alliance Training and Consulting, Inc.  The title of that presentation was "Building Your Leadership Momentum:  Putting Strategic Panning to Work".  A brief discription of the documents are provided.

• Strategic Planning Basic Principles - (Outlines the Strategic Planning proces and what you need to do to get started.)
• Stategic Plan Evaluation - (This form is to be used as a group exercise with your board to determine where everyone is with the chapter's current strategic plan and what the next steps should be.)
• Strategic Planning Review - (A diagram overview of the entire process.)
• Vision, Mission & Values - (It reviews the roles of each part and how to develope them for your chapter.)
• ARMA Strategic Planning Model - (Outlines ARMA Internationals model for strategic planning.)
• Strategy Resources - (Shows how to develop stratgy for the chapter.)
• PEST Analysis - (Analysis document use to assess the external factors Political, Economic, Socio-Cultural, & Techonological Environment.)
• SWOT Analysis - (Analysis used to evulate the chapter's strategies to advance the chapter's mission and vision.)
• Chapter Priorities - (Use to focuse in on the chapter priorities from the PEST and SWOT Analysis.)
• Develop the Plan - (Once you have all of the information above, this assist you in developing the plan.)
• Putting the Plan in Writing
• Putting the Plan into Action
