PROCEDURES
The Committee that oversees education is responsible for providing input into the educational program at the Annual Conference for ARMA International. The Committee may create a task force to plan the conference program.
The Director of Education, or designee(s) from the Education Department, will serve as staff liaison to the task force.
Composition of task force
Task force leader (appointed by the chair of the parent committee)
Director of Education or designate (staff liaison)
Member volunteers (representing various ARMA regions, multiple industries, and who have a variety of experience, opinions and points of view to support the selection of diverse educational topics and speakers)
Timeline
The tasks associated with Conference programming are time-sensitive. The oversight Committee and the task force will work according to the schedule attached as Exhibit A.
Focus of conference content
1. The focus of conference education each year shall be determined by the oversight Committee and the task of program planning delegated to the task force.
2. The Committee will consider the Associtation strategic plan when determining the focus of content.
Program planning
1. The task force will follow the procedures set forth in The Annual Conference and Exhibition Planning Manual (link).
2. The task force will perform the following tasks:
(a) Use the ARMA Core Competencies to guide the selection of conference education.
(b) Ensure that the conference education program consists of a sufficient number and variety of sessions to meet the anticipated current and strategic educational needs of various levels of records and information management professionals.
(c) Select qualified speakers and session leaders based on:
i. their ability to contribute to the theme;
ii. their expertise and background in the topic and the profession;
iii. their audience facilitation skills.
(d) Review session evaluations from previous conferences to determine trends, needs, and quality of education presented.
